Hugh O. Stewart,
Co-Founder & President


Hugh Stewart co-founded The Financial CoPilot in 2005, and as president, has been responsible for strategic leadership and management of the business since its inception. He received a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Miami and has worked as an engineer for Pratt and Whitney, Merck, Hewlett Packard and GE Nuclear Energy. Mr. Stewart is the former President of the Coastal Carolina Real Estate Investors Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching real estate investment techniques to the public and was a Director for the Fayetteville Real Estate Investors Association. He has served as the VP of Finance for a number of real estate development, social media, and financial services businesses over the past 10 years and joined the Intacct® Accountant Partner program in 2014. He is passionate about financial and operational systems development and organizational leadership. Mr. Stewart was a Major in the United States Air Force Auxiliary. He has also served as an Eastern NC Area Governor for Toastmasters International. In addition to The Financial CoPilot, Mr. Stewart owns interest in a number of real estate ventures, a reinsurance consulting and healthcare technology firm and his own business consulting practice. He currently resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.


Diya Kochhar,
MDCS Operations Manager

Diya has been with The Financial CoPilot for over 10 years. During that time she has enjoyed serving in several distinct roles as the company has evolved from its money services and financial management beginnings. Most recently, Diya has been integral in the design and development of The Multi-Dimensional Data Conversion Solution™ (MDCS) technology that has assisted many clients leave their legacy systems behind and migrate to Intacct®.

As the operations manager for The Financial CoPilot she is dedicated to having many more happy customers be free of their legacy accounting systems by facilitating their accelerated growth while bringing along all the data they want or need.

A graduate of the Wharton School with a major in Finance, Diya is a long-life learner, avid traveler and research nut in a myriad of areas from holistic health to microfinance.

Candy Sugarman,
Business Process Creator

CandyCandy heads up providing operational services through The Business Engineer™. She is also the owner of PlayBig Online Marketing where she specializes in social media marketing for individuals and small businesses. She is the founder of the Gun Powder Gals, a women’s only shooting group in the Cumberland County area of North Carolina which she founded in 2009 and a chapter in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 2014. She believes that empowering women to learn and understand how to safely operate guns is a big part in removing many of the stigmas surrounding gun use. PlayBig Online Marketing was founded in 2010 and her day job finds her skillfully providing companies and individuals with the tools to more effectively market themselves online and to streamline their operations for maximum efficiency.

After earning her degree in Psychology from UCLA, Candy primarily worked in the technology industry in the Orange County, CA area. Following the 9/11 attacks, her husband joined the Army and as a result, they both moved to Fayetteville in 2002. Since then Candy has also been a part of many local events and organizations. In 2007 she received the REMAX Carolina, Inc. Hero Award. She was also recognized by the Cumberland County Partnership for Children in 2008.

Gun Powder Gals’s focus is in education, protection, camaraderie, and competition for women. However, Candy’s interests also includes exploring and learning new online marketing methods, public speaking and teaching, hiking, gardening and cooking.

LaToya M. Davidson-Perez,
Executive Assistant & Intellectual Property Administrator

LaToyaLaToya is an administrative professional and certified librarian. Her expertise includes scheduling, process creation and documentation, task management and in providing top-notch administrative assistance. She is very tech savvy and has an advanced skill set in many popular productivity web applications and software including Google Apps, Asana and a long list of others.

LaToya is a five-time college graduate with Masters degrees in Library & Information Studies and Adult Education. She spent over a decade in public libraries and is a long-time member of several professional organizations including that International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) where she’s been a member for over a decade. She is an avid writer and poet who enjoys active learning. LaToya is also the owner of Davidson Administrative Services.
